Bentley is a British luxury car manufacturer, known for combining performance with high-quality craftsmanship and bespoke options since its founding by W.O. Bentley in 1919 with the goal to "build a fast car, a good car, the best in its class". Owned by the Volkswagen Group since 1998, the company maintains a manufacturing base in Crewe, England, where thousands of skilled craftspeople handcraft its vehicles.

Skratch® created truly immersive and high-end personalised factory tour experience through immersive audio zones.

Bentley offers customers a unique opportunity to experience the heart of Bentley, visiting the factory and the brand’s flagship CW1 House. To elevate the sensory experience of this prestigious tour, Bentley selected Focal Audio—renowned for its high-fidelity sound systems—as the hardware partner for the site. To ensure seamless integration and optimal performance, Skratch®, an approved installer for Focal, was appointed as the installation and commissioning partner.

The Challenge

The audio system had to be installed in a discreet and unobtrusive manner, ensuring that the visual aesthetics of the site remained untouched and true to Bentley’s refined design ethos. In addition, the zoning of the audio was meticulously designed to follow the natural flow of the visitor journey, with precise calibration to prevent sound bleed between areas. This careful orchestration ensured a seamless and immersive experience, allowing guests to engage fully with each stage of the tour without distraction.

Our Approach

During the commissioning process, we focused on aligning the audio quality with Bentley’s exacting standards—ensuring the sound experience matched the luxury and refinement of their vehicles. We also collaborated with the build team to factor in materials and spatial layout, which were critical in designing the audio zoning. This ensured a smooth auditory transition for visitors, with no sound bleed between zones, creating a truly immersive and high-end experience.

The Impact

Beyond technical excellence, the solution delivered an elevated visitor experience, empowering location staff with an intuitive interface to manage playlists and curate bespoke audio environments for special events. This flexibility added a dynamic layer to the tour, allowing Bentley to tailor the atmosphere to suit different audiences and occasions—further reinforcing the brand’s commitment to luxury, innovation, and customer engagement.
